Currently SynGO contains 1602 annotated synaptic proteins/genes based on the contributions of many of your colleagues. We welcome new annotations and hope you can contribute to SynGO by suggesting the synaptic function or location of proteins that are currently missing or incomplete together with experimental evidence referenced by a PMID & figure(s). We'll run your submission by the SynGO annotation team and will include it in the next release if the annotation fulfills the evidence/quality criteria.

Please use the search function on this website to double-check that your suggested protein annotation is not a duplicate. We do encourage multiple annotations to the same protein/gene if there is evidence for distinct synaptic localizations or functions (or evidence from additional papers that strengthen annotation confidence). We also welcome papers/evidence that challenges existing annotations.
