Annotation description: | Fig1C and 1D show quantitative immunoEM for VAMP2 located to presynaptic terminals in mice. For controls, preincubation with antigen and VAMP2 KO mice are shown and quantified. Vesicles are difficult to observe here but the antibody is clearly specific. Fig4D-F, 4H: quantitative immunoEM on rat hippocampal cultures, detected by immuno-gold. VAMP2 immune reactivity is most abundant on synaptic vesicles for all 3 antibodies. Fig5D-F: quantitative immunoEM on rat intact tissue, detected by immuno-gold. VAMP2 immune reactivity is most abundant on synaptic vesicles. Given VAMP2 contains a transmembrane domain the annotation "integral component" of synaptic vesicle membrane is selected. |
