Additional literature:Localization of Synaptobrevin (Vamp) was studied for the first time by Baumert et al. They used a combination of subcellular fractionation, Western blotting, and immunogold labeling and showed that synaptobrevin is a synaptic vesicle protein. However, the antibody that they used in this study was not suitable to distinguish between Vamp1 and Vamp2. @ PMID:2498078

In this paper, Edelmann et al. used the specific antibody again Vamp2 to identify the Vamp2 interaction partners by immunoprecipitation. Moreover, performed intact synaptosomes crosslinking. Both experiments revelaed that vamp2 and synaptophysin (synaptic vesicle marker) bind to each other, documenting that vamp2 is a synaptic vesicle protein. @ PMID:7835333
