Annotation description: | Fig1 shows the localisation of Myo6 in the inner hair cell synapse. Quantification is given in the text (p4616). Light microscopy images show that Myo6 is present in throughout cellbody of the inner hair cell, with strong labelling at the basolateral face where the synapses are located. ImmunoEM shows that Myo6 is present at the cytoplasm (36%) and the synapse ribbon (16%), but most labelling is found at the edge of the active zone (48%; Fig1c-e) and on endocytic pits at the edge of the active zone (31% of active zone labelling; Fig1f). |

Additional literature: | Fig4 shows that most of the endocytic pits (80nm) are located 33-60 nm from the edge of the active zone in mouse hippocampal synapses, indicative of the endocytic zone. @ PMID:24305055 |
