Annotation description: | The paper characterizes a postsynaptic signal transduction pathway, where a CaMKK activates CaMKIalpha, which then binds to and phosphorylates βPIX. The signal transduction pathway likely operates during synaptogenesis. Figure 2D shows that CaMKIalpha phosphorylates Ser516 in βPIX.
