Annotation description: | ced5 mutants exhibit synaptic vesicle clustering defects in AIY interneurons (assessed using confocal microscopy imaging of wild type and mutant worms expressing RAB3-GFP). CED5 effect on SV clustering depends on UNC-40 localisation. CED5 acts through the GTPase CED10 and, in turn, through MIG10. Like ced5 mutants, both ced10 (Figs 3H, I and N) and mig10 mutants (Figs 4C, E and F) also display SV clustering defects that may occur via organisation of presynaptic actin. Neither ced5 nor mig10 mutants affect localisation of active zone proteins SYD1 and SYD2. |
