Annotation description: | CHMP2B is found in dendritic shafts and spines where it colocalizes with PSD-95 as observed using confocal microscopy. Immunogold EM revealed significantly increased immunoreactivity in spines, where particles arranged beneath the spine membrane around the PSD. Subcellular fractionation revealed enrichment in membranes and synaptoneurosomes and PSD fractions, but could be solubilized from the PSD fraction by using Sarkosyl. Immunoprecipitation of CHMP2B from synaptoneurosomes also precipitates PSD scaffolds and this was also confirmed by mass spectrometry. |

Analysis of protein levels showed that the knockout is incomplete (Fig. 1D), leading to an 84% reduction in CHMP2B levels (Fig. 1G). @ PMID:22366797 |
