Annotation description: | By tissue fractionation of mouse whole brain [Fig2] or human post mortem hippocampus [Fig3], DTNBP1 (Dysbindin-1) is found concentrated in the synaptosome and synaptic vesicle fractions, with little protein in the PSD fraction. Immuno-EM (qualitative) confirmed presynaptic vesicle localisation in the mouse and macaque dentate gyrus inner molecular layer [Fig5] and CA1 [Fig8A & B], and the dentate gyrus hilus of the mouse [Fig6C]. Postsynaptic density localisation was also detected in the dentate gyrus hilus [Fig6B & D] mossy fiber synapse [Fig7] and in the CA1 area of mouse [Fig8D & E]. |
