Annotation description: | SERT immunoreactivity can be found on the plasma membrane in some dendrites and spines of neurons that are not 5-HT positive at the ultrastructural level. Pre-embedding peroxidase labelling (Fig. 1) and immunogold-silver labelling of SERT was performed in the Nucleus accumbens (Nac). Immunogold-labelling demonstrates the presence of SERT on some dendrites and spines (Fig. 5, 6). Antibodies: antipeptide (C611-630 and E387-401) and anti-fusion protein antisera (N1-85). In control experiments, samples were processed for immunoperoxidase or immunogold labelling with the omission of primary antisera or with antisera that have been pre-absorbed with the peptide. No KO-control. |
