Annotation description: | Authors used a polyclonal antibody against AIDA-1 generated in rabbit to study the protein distribution in vivo. This antibody identifies at least different isoforms of AIDA-1 (AIDA-1d, AIDA-1e and EB-1), being AIDA-1d and 1e found in synaptosomes and PSD fractions. Confocal imaging revealed a prominent staining of AIDA1 in the stratum lucidum of CA3 which colocalized with VGLUT1 staining, suggesting the localization of AIDA1 in mossy fiber terminals. This was confirmed by subsequent preembedding immunoperoxidase experiments that showed immunolabeling of AIDA1 in mossy fiber terminals, concentrated at the center of synaptic vesicle pools. |
