Annotation description: | It is demonstrated that a PKC beta knockout abolishes post-tetanic potentiation (PTP), in the Calyx of Held. It is also shown that PTP operates at least partly due to a potentiation in readily releasable pool size, and that this potentiation is lost in the PKC alpha/beta knockout. It should be noted that at some synapses, PKC beta is not required for PTP (Wang et.al. 2016). |

Additional literature: | Wang et.al. demonstrates that the role of PKC beta in PTP is not universal. In this publication, PKC beta knockout has no effect on PTP at the CA3 to CA1 synapse. @ PMID:27307229 |
