Annotated paper: | Park H, et al. "Mice lacking the PSD-95-interacting E3 ligase, Dorfin/Rnf19a, display reduced adult neurogenesis, enhanced long-term potentiation, and impaired contextual fear conditioning" Sci Rep. 2015 Nov 10;5:16410 PMID:26553645 |

Annotation description: | Dorfin binds to PSD-95 (Figure 1) Dorfin null mutant mice show normal brain and dendrite morphology (Figure 2) Dorfin null mutant mice show increased mEPSC amplitude and enhanced LTP in the hippocampal DG region. mEPSC frequency and paired-pulse ratio is not affected. Neither is mIPSC amplitude/frequency (Figure 4). 23/5/2017 Pim - Dorfin is a known E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase - Fig.7 25 proteins were shown to be under-phosphorylated in hippcampal lysates. - So, dorfin is a known E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that is active in hippocampus, interacts with PSD-95, and affects postsynaptic, but not presynaptic function of Glutamatergic synapses. |
