Annotation description:Lats1 phosphorylates AMOT-130 at S-175 and prevents it from entry into spines. A phosphomimetic mutant of AMOT (175S->D) has a same effect, the 175S->A mutation suppresses the Lats1 effect.

"Likewise, the rise in AMOT-130 levels appears to be an important feature to promote spine growth, which in turn is dependent on the reduction of Lats1 activity (Figs. 5 and 7)."

"The expression of total Lats1 levels peaked at P1 and then gradually decreased during brain development (Fig. 7 C), coinciding with the observed phosphorylation pattern of AMOT-130 in the brain (Fig. 5 B). These results indicated that Lats1 is a neuronal regulator of AMOT-130 during a developmental phase that coincides with the onset of synaptogenesis."
