Annotation description: | Figure 3: "RasGRF2 is present in spines. Hippocampal neurons were triple-labeled with antibodies against RasGRF2 and microtubule-associated protein 2 (Map2), and with phalloidin to visualize F-actin (abbreviated R, M, and P, and color-coded in merged images). Map2 and phalloidin primarily labels dendrites and spines, respectively. RasGRF2 staining is present in phalloidin-intense areas, indicating RasGRF2's presence in spines." Authors checked that their stainings did not yield signal from RasGRF1; "Because the RasGRF2 antibody we used cross-reacts with both isoforms of RasGRF (38), it was evident that RasGRF1 was not present in the cultured hippocampal neurons used for precipitation (input), although it was present in adult rat whole-brain lysate (in situ)." |
