| Annotation description: | Figure 3: MKL2 (gene MRTFB) was detected in synaptic biochemical fractions prepared from rat brain homogenate. MKL2 was enriched in crude synaptic vesicle, synaptic membrane and PSD fractions as compared to P2 fraction. Figure 4: Immunostaining of mature cortical neuronal cultures showed endogenous MKL2 (gene MRTFB) was present in both presynapses (co-localization with synaptophysin/SYP) and dendritic spines (co-localization with PSD95/DLG4). There also seems to be ample non-synaptic staining and authors commented on this; "However, not all puncta stained with anti-MKL1 or anti-MKL2 antibodies colocalised with puncta stained with anti-PSD-95 or anti-synaptophysin antibodies." |
