Annotation description: | Fig.1 MAGI2 is localized at inhibitory synapses. Literal "We found that 32.1 ± 5.4% of S-SCAM clusters were apposed to VGAT clusters, whereas 69.8 ± 5.8% of VGAT clusters were apposed to S-SCAM clusters. We also immunostained cells with anti-gephyrin antibody (Fig. 1b, lower panel). We found that 35.4 ± 7.4% of S-SCAM clusters were co-localized with gephyrin clusters, whereas 62.7 ± 10.9% of gephyrin clusters were co-localized with S-SCAM clusters. These findings suggest that almost one-third of signals detected by anti-S-SCAM antibody arelocalized at inhibitory synapses." Fig. 8e MAGI2 colocalized with neuroligin 2 at inhibitory synapses. Literal "In the immunofluorescence of rat primary cultured hippocampal neurons, neuroligin 2 was partially overlapped with S-SCAM and b-DG" 24/5/2017 Pim - Fig.1 shows that MAGI2 is localized at inh. synapses. - Fig.8a shows direct interaction of the cytosolic MAGI2 protein with transmembrane neurologin 2. - Fig.8e shows colocalization of MAGI2 and neuroligin 2 in inhibitory synapses. Neuroligin is a known postsynapic protein of inhibitory synapses that interacts with presynaptic neurexin proteins. In conclusion, via PPI and colocalization with neuroligin 2 a postsynaptic localization of MAGI2 is evidenced. Since MAGI2 interacts with the TM neuroligin protein the membrane association type is "extrinsic component...." |
