Figure 2: immunogold EM imaging of the ventromedial nucleus of the hypothalamus showed NAPEPLD particles at the plasma membrane of both pre- and post-synapses. Labeling was also observed inside the neuronal profiles (Fig. 2f), frequently associated with intracellular organelles such as the smooth endoplasmic reticulum (Fig. 2c).
