Figure(s):Figure 3, 8
Annotation description:Authors generated various antibodies against EFA6D (aka. EFA6R, gene PSD3) isoforms.

Figure 3: biochemical fractions showed EFA6D1b/c was localized to the LP1 fraction where PSD marker protein PSD95 (DLG4) was enriched (but note that these are not highly-stringent PSD fractions) and not presynaptic marker protein synaptophysin (SYP). Conversely, synaptophysin was enriched in LP2 fractions where EFA6D1b/c was absent.

Figure 8: pre-embedding immunoelectron microscopic analysis in the hippocampal CA3 region showed the pan-antibody detected EFA6D in dendritic spines, dendrites and cell body.

"Notably, immunolabeling was hardly detected in the postsynaptic density of dendritic spines by either pre-embedding (Fig. 8A,B,E,F,I,J) or postembedding (data not shown) immunoelectron microscopy with anti-EFA6D1/2a-d, anti-EFA6D1/2s, or anti-panEFA6D1 antibodies.
...
On the other hand, the labeling density of EFA6D1/2s was similar to that of panEFA6D1, with high density in the dendrite, spine, and cell body of CA3 pyramidal cells (Fig. 8H,L)."
