Annotation description: | "When hippocampal cultures at DIV 6 were stained for both Mena (gene ENAH) and the presynaptic inhibitory synaptic vesicle protein VIAAT, Mena containing 'hot spots' were clearly observed along dendrites and in neuronal somata (Figs. 6A, A1). Furthermore, although there was a considerable amount of diffusely localized protein, approximately 68% (data not shown) of these Mena puncta colocalized with VIAAT (Figs. 6A, A1). ... Costaining with fluorescently labeled phalloidin showed that Mena puncta were aligned with F-actin in dendrites (Fig. 6A2)." |
