Annotation description: | Figure 2: Subcellular fractionation patterns of Clmp protein in the rat brain showed Clmp is enriched in synaptic, but not PSD, fractions. In HEK293T cells, co-immunoprecipitation of Clmp and PSD-95 (DLG4) showed these proteins do not form a complex (Clmp relatives like IgSF11 are known to interact with PSD-95). Clmp does not have a functional PDZ-binding motif. Figure 3: "Clmp deletion leads to changes in AMPAR, KAR, and NMDAR mEPSCs in Clmp-/- CA3 neurons; increased frequency and amplitude of AMPAR mEPSCs, increased frequency, amplitude, and decay time constant of KAR mEPSCs, and decreased frequency of NMDAR mEPSCs." Figure 5: Extracellular and cytoplasmic regions of Clmp interact with AMPARs and KARs. Figure 7: Increased extrasynaptic KAR currents and decreased extrasynaptic NMDAR currents in Clmp-/- hippocampal CA3 neurons. Based on the known transmembrane topology of this protein, "integral component of ... membrane" term was selected. |
