Annotation description:Figure 2b: confocal imaging of immunofluorescence labeling for LRP1, Synaptophysin (SYP) and PSD-95 (DLG4) in cultured cortical neurons from mice showed partial localization of LRP1 to the postsynapse.

Figure 2c: immunogold EM for LRP1 in CA1 region of the hippocampus showed particles in the postsynapse, including some at the PSD membrane, whereas no presynaptic localization was observed. Immunogold particles were also found on intracellular membranes, such as lysosomes and endosomes of dendritic compartments. Note that LRP1 was also detected in astrocytes (Fig. 1).

Figure 2d: Biochemical analysis of synaptosomes and PSD fractions prepared from cortices of adult LRP1-expressing mice showed the presence of LRP1 in the postsynaptic density, from where it was partly co-purified with PSD-95 and NMDA receptor subunits (Fig. 2D).

Figure 2e: LRP1 could be co-precipitated with PSD-95 and the NMDA receptor subunits GluN1, GluN2A, and GluN2B (Fig. 2E, a-c) in immunoprecipitation experiments from soluble synaptosomal membrane preparations.
