Annotation description: | EM imaging showed both substance P (SP, gene TAC1) and substance P receptor (SPR, gene TACR1) were localized at synapses, but not exclusive to synapses. Figure 2d,e: Electron microscopic double labeling of SP and SPR showed localization to GABAergic synapses in the superficial dorsal horn. SP was observed at presynaptic dense core vesicles (DCV), but not at synaptic vesicles. SPR was observed throughout the postsynaptic site. Based on the known transmembrane topology of this protein, "integral component of ... membrane" term was selected. |
