Annotation description:Pre-embedding immunoelectron microscopy (EM) using a rabbit polyclonal anti-CAPS-2 antibody (anti-a1803/CAPS2 amino acids 18-89) generated in the study. No CAPS-2 KO were used to test antibody specificity for immuno-EM.

- The included immuno-EM pictures show much more detailed location on predantly non-specified presynaptic vesicular structures which are not SVs (for which SynGO has no term) but also on the presynaptic plasma membrane and in the dendritic spine. Since the majority of the protein is in the presynapse and the authors fail to address the nature of the presynaptic vesicle I agree to the term "presynapse".

Additional literature: PMID:18022372 --> Characterization of the anti-CAPS2 antibody using Western Blot of CAPS-2 KO homogenate.

Fig.4C: Rat cortex subcellular fractions were analyzed by Western blotting using anti-CAPS-2 antibodies. CAPS-2 is a soluble protein that localizes to a large soluble synaptic pool in LS2 (cytosolic synaptosomal fraction) and a small membrane bound pool associated with the vesicle fraction LP2 (crude synaptic vesicle fraction). @ PMID:14530279
