Annotation description:CAPS-1 mediates dense core vesicle fusion in neurons. CAPS-1 and -2 deletion reduces dense core vesicle fusion in response to electrical stimulation in neurons from hippocampal mass cultures (Fig. 3) and isolated, autaptic cultures (Fig. 4) from synapses, but also extra-synaptic sites. -Fig.3 shows CAPS1/2 double KO animals, but in Fig.4 it is shown that in hippocampal neurons CAPS1 is specifically involved. Therefore, no IGI of CAPS1/2 is needed.
-based on data on SVs CAPS1 is though to mediate one of the steps of LCDV exocytosis (docking, priming, release) and therefore the "regulates..." box was not selected.
