Figure(s):Figure 4
Annotation description:Figure 4a,b: Immunofluorescence imaging showed SNX6 co-localizes with multiple endosomal marker proteins in dendrites of cultured hippocampal neurons.

Figure 4e-i: SNX6 interacts with Homer1b/c.

Figure 4j-n: EEA1, SNX6 and Homer1b/c triple-stainings suggest all three co-localize in early endosomes at dendrites of cultured hippocampal neurons. Punta in panel j suggest these endosomes are occasionally localized at/near dendritic spines.

Figure 8: Homer1b/c translocates from shaft to spines by protein diffusion, which does not require SNX6.

There is only very sporadic imaging data that places the SNX6 containing early endosomes (marked by EEA1) directly at the postsynapse. However, in order to deliver Homer1b/c to the postsynapse (by means of protein diffusion) these have to be very close at least i.e. to postsynaptic spine base/neck, which warrants annotation against postsynaptic endosomes as defined by SynGO.

Additional literature:"one of SNX1/2's dimerization partners, SNX6, interacts with the p150(Glued) subunit of the dynein/dynactin motor complex. We present evidence that SNX6 is a component of the retromer, and that recruitment of the motor complex to the membrane-associated retromer requires the SNX6-p150(Glued) interaction." @ PMID:19935774
