| Annotation description: | The (sub)cellular distribution of PLC beta3 is studied in mouse brain using immunocytochemistry, subcellular fractionation and immuno electron microscopy. PLC B3 was almost exclusively detected in the cerebellum. Using immuno electron microscopy (HRP and immuno gold, pre- and post embedding), PLC B3 was found in dendrites and dendritic spines (figure 5). Although mostly cytoplasmatic, considerable amount was detected at the plasma membrane. No signal was detected in the presynaptic terminal. Subcellular fractionation experiments are in line with a postsynaptic localization of PLC B3 (figure 6). The antibody used is characterized with KO controls (western blot and immunocytochemistry, Figure 1). |
