Annotation description: | Figure 1: biochemical fractions of ER-enriched and synaptic membranes show FRRS1L is present on both but enriched in the ER. Figure 2: Stepwise co-expression in cultured cells showed FRRS1L is able to form protein complexes together with GRIA1, GRIA2 and and various ER-expressed AMPAR auxilliary subunits. A minority (~30%) of surface-expressed FRRS1L in mouse dissociated hippocampal neuron cultures co-localizes with PSD95/DLG4 (W. Han et al. 2017, PMID:29276473), so it stands to reason that some (but not all) ER localized FRSS1L is localized at or very near postsynapses. Based on the known transmembrane topology of this protein, "integral component of ... membrane" term was selected. |

Additional literature: | surface HA-FRRS1L (sHA-FRRS1L) in mouse dissociated hippocampal neuron cultures at DIV16 partially co-localizes (~50% of FRRS1L puncta) with surface GluA1 (sGluA1), but the majority of sHA-FRRS1L does not co-localize with an excitatory synapse marker, PSD-95 (~30% of FRRS1L puncta). @ PMID:29276473 immunoEM evidence for FRRS1L ER localization @ PMID:28675162 |
