| Annotation description: | Western blots showed p55 (MPP1) was enriched in synaptic subcellular fractions and enriched in synaptic membranes and PSD fractions (figure 6). "r-p55 protein was localized both in soma and dendrites in neuronal cells. Immunocytochemical staining of cultured neurons clearly showed punctate distribution of the protein in neurons. The p55 puncta were partly co-localized with PSD-95, a postsynaptic marker (Fig. 7), and juxtaposed to those of synaptophysin, a presynaptic marker. These results suggested postsynaptic localization of r-p55 protein." |
