Figure(s):Figure 4, 5, 6
Annotation description:Figure 4a,b. immunogold labeling of neurotrimin at immature synaptic sites throughout synaptogenesis, increasing from P8-P14 and decreasing towards adulthood, where it is observed less in presynapses and most prominent at postsynaptic spines (Fig. 6a).

"During granule cell migration and mossy fiber synaptogenesis, Ntm-immunoreactivity was most intense on granule cell surfaces (Fig. 5A and B) as well as between granule cell dendrites and mossy fiber terminals (Fig. 5A and C). With decreased immunoreactivity on granule cell somata and dendrites after P21, arrays of synaptic junctions appeared prominently around mossy fiber terminals as several synaptic contacts between mossy fibers and granule cell dendrites (Fig. 6F)."

Annotated as "anchored component of ... membrane" based on GPI anchor. Source: "All members of this subfamily contain three Ig-like domains that share a high degree of homology and are anchored to the plasma membrane by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol moiety" (GPI anchor) (PMID:12373100).
