Annotation description:This study shows that deletion of presynaptic PTPRD leads to decreases in excitatory synaptic localization of IL1RAPL1 (a postsynaptic adhesion molecule known to bind PTPRD) and the functional strength of excitatory synapses in the TA-CA1 pathway in the SLM region of the hippocampus.

Description in Figure 4.
PTPδ trans-synaptically regulates tyrosine phosphorylation and synaptic localization of IL1RAPL1 and excitatory synaptic strength.

19/01/2021 Dnyanada: The shared phenotypes between the Ptprd -/- and Ptprd-meA -/- (selective abolishment of the PTPδ-IL1RAPL1 interaction; strategy is shown in Figure 4C and D) verifies that PTPδ trans-synaptically regulates the synaptic localisation of IL1RAPL1 and excitatory synaptic transmission and strength.
Note: Most of the biochemical experiments were on whole-brain lysates and the region used for electrophysiological experiments was not defined in the paper.
