Annotation description: | Liprin-alpha 4 was shown to be enriched at parallel fiber-Purkinje cell synapses in adult mouse cerebellar cortex. Triple-labelling confocal immunofluorescence of liprin-alpha 4, calbindin (Purkinje cell dendritic trees and spines marker), and VGLUT1 (synaptic vesicle marker) . Liprin-alpha 4 did not co-distribute with calbindin but showed partial co-localization with VGLUT1 (Fig. 8). Rabbit polyclonal anti-liprin-alpha antibodies were raised against GST-tag fusion proteins containing the sequence (461-564 of liprin-a4 (EF428334)). 20/01/2021 Dnyanada: Information on antibody specificity: Figure 1K: Western blots with extracts of HeLa cells transfected with GFP-liprin alpha 4 were blotted against anti-liprinalpha4 antibody. The antibody specifically recognized a band of ~140kD representative of PPFIA4. Figure 1M: anti-liprinalpha4 antibody preadsorbed with liprin demonstrated no signal (labelled as "block"). |

Additional literature: | Immunohistochemical costaining of Liprin-alpha 4 and the presynaptic marker synapsin on sagittal adult mouse cerebellar sections showed Liprin-alpha 4 and synapsin colabeling in the molecular layer, suggesting synaptic localization in parallel fiber terminals. Confocal microscopy was used. Liprin alpha 4 antibodies were raised in rabbits against the peptide: DPLGPPHGADAEANFEC, affinity purified, and used at 1:100 (IHC). @ PMID:21618221 |
