Figure(s):Fig 5
Annotation description:Fig5: phalloidin/rhodamine-coupled actin assay was used to detect new actin polymerization in the postsynaptic terminal. To investigate whether actin polymerization is mediated by ezrin, neurons treated with Urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA) were tested for new actin structures in the presence of ezrin siRNA. The area of newly formed actin in the presence of uPA shifted from 84.9 ± 1.51 μm2 to 38.8 ± 4.24 μm2 indicating that ezrin down-regulation abrogates the effect of uPA on actin formation.
