Annotation description: | Subcellular fractionation of rat brain indicates the presence of RalA in synaptosomes and synaptic membrane fractions. 18/01/2021 Dnyanada: The paper demonstrates the presence of RalA in PSD fractions (Fig S2F), however, the term "postsynaptic density" was not chosen due to a decrease in signal intensity observed as the fractions become PSD specific (Fig S2G; contrary to the pattern elicited by PSD95). The additional literature cited lie in favour that RalA is indeed a synaptic protein. Figure S2F shows enrichment of RalA in the synaptic membrane fraction (LP1) and was used as the basis for the ontology term. Figure 9C-D shows specificity of anti-RalA antibody by a reduced signal in RalA-/- brain extracts. |
