Annotation description: | Fig 1 shows the quantification and examples of transferrin-labelled syntaxin13 positive structures (to disambiguate: the streetname is syntaxin13, whereas the gene symbol is STX12). 50% of these structures are localised to the spine head (Fig 1C). Evidence from Tf uptake in this experiment and extensive characterisation in heterologous cells and neurons (see supporting refs) indicates these are tubular recycling endosomes. Based on the known transmembrane topology of this protein, "integral component of ... membrane" term was selected. |
