Figure(s):Fig 6, Sup Fig 4
Annotation description:Fig 6 shows co-loalization of NGEF/ephexin1 with PSD-95

Supp Fig 4 shows subcellular fractionation of rat brain, where NGEF is found in all fractions (also cytosolic fraction, in line with findings by Shamah et al PMID 11336673), but seems most enriched in the Sarkosyl resistent PSD fraction, that is also enriched for PSD95 and devoid of Synaptophysin (synaptic vesicles) and CKD5. These data would suggest it is part of the PSD, but given that NGEF is also largely present cytosol (this paper sup fig 4, supporting ref and non-PSD95 localisation if Fig 6, the general postsynapse annotation is more appropriate.

Additional literature:Fig1D: NGEF/ephexin1 contains a PH and SH3 domain, which could mediate a membrane localization. Fig1B shows that NGEF is both present in membrane-bound and cytosolic fractions of rat brain. @ PMID:11336673
