Annotation description: | Fig 1A STED imaging of DIV21 rat cortical neurons shows apposed localization of PSD95 and ephrinB3 (extracellular antigen) immunostaining inside spine heads. - Postsynaptic membrane localization is supported by the PPI of the protein with PSD-95 (the marker protein of the postsynaptic density) in P21 synaptoneurosomes (Fig. 1G, J) and direct PPI of the protein with PSD95 in HEK293T lysates expressing both proteins (Fig 2B). This is important because ephrin B3 is known to localize to (certain) presynapses. - Based on the known transmembrane topology of the protein, the "integral component of ... membrane" term was chosen. |

Additional literature: | Cloning of ephrinB3 (EPLG8) suggest a transmembrane containing protein. @ PMID:9126477 Fig1A,B An accumulation of VGluT1 signal was observed in axons crossing ephrinB3-expressing HEK293 cells, but not in those that contact GFP-expressing cells, suggesting that ephrinB3 is a transmembrane protein localized to the plasma membrane. @ PMID:17626212 |
