Annotation description: | Exposure of mossy fibre neurons to Wnt7-containing culture medium derived from cerebellar granule cells increases the density of VAMP2, synapsin 1 and Bassoon puncta along axons. This is supported by an increase in the number of recycling synaptic vesicle sites as identified using antibodies against synaptotagmin-1 or FM1-43 labelling. Conversely, VAMP2 puncta and number of recycling synaptic vesicle sites were significantly decreased in Dvl1 mutant mice or when Wnt7b signalling was interrupted by treatment with the Wnt inhibitor Sfrp-1. Dvl1 mutant mice further showed a decrease in the amount of synapsin 1 accumulating at cerebellar glomerular rosettes. 27/3/2017 Pim - Since Dvl1 is a presumed scaffold of developing synapses I agree to (1) not select the "regulates ..." option and to (2) not advise a second annotation against "Wnt sinaling pathway in the presynapse" (Dvl1 does not signal). |
