Annotation description:Increased endocytosis in the absence of Calnexin in cultured cells (mouse neuroblastoma) and neurons. Significantly increased numbers of synaptic vesicles in cerebellar synapses (Fig. 2e-f).
Formally the authors demonstrate in non-neuronal cells that Calnexin is an involved in regulating endocytosis by inhibiting transferrin uptake (Fig. 3). From the KO phenotype one can conclude that endocytosis of synaptic vesicles is also affected.
