Annotation description:The authors express HRP-fused recombinant LRRTM1 and observe stainging of the synaptic cleft. LRRTM1 is a postsynaptic TM adhesion protein that is known to be able to induce presynaptic differentiation of GLUTergic synapses. The postsynaptic localization is not resolved in these figures (difficult for epitopes/proteins in/around the synaptic cleft) but known from other literature (seen f.i. ticket #737 that shows expression in the postsynapse). This aspect is implicitly acknowledged by the authors since the study uses HPR-tagging of postsynaptic proteins to separate Glut from GABA synapses (Fig.1A)
