Annotation description: | TARP γ-3 is an integral membrane protein found in the postsynaptic density membrane. Fig. 6A: "TARPs colocalize with AMPARs at excitatory synapses." Subcellular fractionation and western blot analysis showed TARP γ-3 is enriched in synaptosomes and is resistant to extraction from synaptic membranes with Triton X-100 (PSDI-II fractions), indicating a strong association with the PSD. 'integral component of postsynaptic density membrane (GO:0099061)' is based on (1) the transmembrane topology of the TARP γ-3 and (2) the known interaction with AMPARs (plasma membrane proteins) at the PSD |
