Annotation description: | This paper used the Sandy (sdy) mouse mutant that is defective in the Dysbindin-1 gene. Fig 1 shows that the amperomerty release kinetics (especially half-hight duration) of vesicles from sdy chromaffin cells are slower, and this is restored by reintroducing Dysbindin-1 in Fig 2, denatured Dysbindin does not show this effect. Fig 4 shows that these slow kinetics are also observed in hippocampal CA1 synapses, both on spontaneous events and evoked responses. Furthermore the RRP in chromaffin cells was also reduced, indicating that neurotransmitter secretion is affected in both models. |
