Annotation description: | Background: GABA-ergic transmission between cerebellar interneuron and Purkinje cell (PC) is examined. This synapse is plastic and increases in strength after presynaptic stimulation, critically relies on an increase in number of postsynaptic GABAA receptors containing the β2-subunit. Fig.5: "β2-subunit dependence of RP" - "The mIPSC amplitude distributions revealed a significant reduction in the large-amplitude IPSCs in β2-/- slices..." - "We therefore conclude that BC-PC synapses contain a single population of GABAA receptors that include the β2-subunit" |
