Inference of actin cytoskeleton term: "1) FILIP1 has been identified as an interactor of the actin-crosslinking protein Filamin A, see Fig 3 in PMID 12055638. In COS7 cells GFP-tagged FILIP1 shows a fibre-like distribution and co-localizes with phalloidin staining of filamentous actin (Fig 2 in PMID 12055638). Deletion of the Filamin-interaction portion of FILIP disrupts this distribution, indicating that FILIP1 can interact with the actin cytoskeleton via Filamin A. Given the similar distribution of FILIP1 and Filamin A in neurons, both enriched in spines, it is highly likely that also in neuronal spines, FILIP1 is bound to actin through Filamin A."
