Annotation description: | The authors purify synaptic fractions (synaptosomes) from rat brain. They then isolate clathrin-coated vesicles (CCVs) from the synaptic fractions. They demonstrate that the vast majority of CCVs purified in this way are from the presysnapse and contain synaptic vesicles as their major cargo. Western blot reveals the enrichment of clathrin light chain A in these fractions (upper band in figure 5). 6/12/2017 Pim - The authors show that the isolated vesicles have many hall mark components of SVs, but lack certain others. The CCVs therefore represent endocytosed/recycled SVs after release. |
