Annotation description: | PSD-95 is concentrated within the postsynaptic density of dendritic spines in CA1 neurons of the adult rat hippocampus (P37, Figure 1C-E). The median value for the location of PSD-95 is 13.5nm from the postsynaptic membrane. "anchored component" annotation is because PSD-95 requires palmitoylation for membrane association and synaptic localization. Antibodies used in electron microscopy analyses were validated by western blot analysis of rat hippocampus and ectopic expressing in HEK cells (Figure 1) and immunogold labeling in CA1 stratum radiatum of the rat hippocampus over the course of development (Figure 4B). |
