Annotation description:Figure 1: PRG-1 (gene PLPPR4) was mainly expressed on dendrites and colocalized with ProSAP2 (SHANK3) and Homer, but not Gephyrin (GPHN). Subcellular fractionation of mouse cerebral cortex revealed PRG-1 within the PSD. PRG-1 was detected in this fraction but not in the presynaptic vesicle fraction (SC+CSV).

"Finally, localization at the ultrastructural level revealed DAB-reaction product, indicating PRG-1 immunolabeling exclusively at postsynaptic structures of asymmetric synapses of CA1 pyramidal cells and silver-enhanced immunogold signal of PRG-1 bordering the synaptic cleft (Figure 1D)."
