Annotation description:
The authors use dynamin 1 knock out (KO) mice, dynamin 3 KO mice and dynamin 1/3 double KO mice. Using cultured cortical neurons with vGlut1-pHlourin, they demonstrate in fig 4B that fluorescence recovery after stimulation, which is indicative of synaptic vesicle (SV) endocytosis is decreased in dynamin 1 KO mice, is not effected in dynamin 3 KO mice, but is dramatically reduced in dynamin 1/3 double KO mice. Thus, dynamin 1 and 3, which together account for the overwhelming majority of brain dynamin, cooperate in supporting optimal rates of synaptic vesicle endocytosis
