Annotation description: | This publication assigns Collybistin immunoreactivity clearly to a subset of inhibitory synapses throughout the brain. Collybistin is an established interactor of Gephyrin, which was localized to the inhibitory postsynapse through immunogold as reviewed in 24552784. 10/2/2017 Pim Note: clusters of gephyrin, a postsynaptic protein, are used in this publication as a proxy for inh. synapses (see PMID:24552784). Fig.2: inh. (GABA) synapses in cerebellar ctx [rat] Fig.3: inh. (GABA) synapses in purkinje cells [mouse] Fig.4: various brain area's in brain [rat] Fig.5: colocalization with different GABA-A-R subunits in various brain area's, and with GlycRs in brainstem [rat] My final interpretation is that CB3 is present in the postsynaptic specialization (using gephyrin as a proxy) of GABA-ergic and Glycin-ergic synapses in the rodent brain (as also indicated by the Gundelfinger group). |
