Annotation description: | Fig3 shows STED microscopy of betaII spectrin in combination with Homer (postsynaptic marker), Bassoon (presynaptic marker) and phalloidin, staining filamentous actin (mainly in spines). BetaII spectrin shows a periodic striped pattern in the dendrite that extends into the neck of spines and spine head. Supplementary Fig 5 shows an extended gallery of these spine images. betaII spectrin labeling does not seem to overlap with the active zone/PSD contact area indicated by the Homer and Bassoon staining. |
