Annotation description: | Authors investigate whether Htt plays a role in transporting NF-kB from the postsynaptic compartment to the nucleus based on the fact that Htt interacts preferable with the active form of NF-kB. They performed photo activation experiments in primary hippocampal cultures of control and conditional htt knockout mice and observed that when htt was missing the half-life of NF-kB movement was double as compared to control mice. This data was in agreement with the quantification of NF-kB levels in the nucleus fraction prepared from control and knockout mice, which showed significantly lower levels in the absence of htt. |
